In The Spotlight...

Brian, from the band Plane without a pilot finished recording and putting the finishing touches on their debut full-featured LP soon to be released.

Brian deserves the spotlight for his determination and focus on his vocals. He has improved so much in such a short time and it's been fun having a punk/rock singer in my studio. To hear and learn more about Brian and his band visit his myspace page by clicking on this link. http://http://www.myspace.com/planewithoutapilot

Whether you are an adult or child wanting to take voice/piano lessons for personal enrichment or as a means towards an exciting career in music you will build self-confidence and you will also gain emotional and  psychological benefits of self expression. Music Theory / Composition

Do you love singing and/or play an instrument but can't read music? Have you always wanted to write your own music? I will go over theory and comopostition giving you the tools to transfer your ideas onto paper.

Along with our piano or voice lessons I will go over basic music theory which will give you the tools to read and write your own music.

Classical Teacher or Pop vocal Coach?

Some are of the opinion that a classically trained singer will teach you vocal exercises in a falsetto voice resulting in a silly sound. I strongly dissagree.

As a classically trained singer I've also been able to sing pop, barbershop quartet singing, jazz, gospel and musical theater as well as opera arias.

Vocal health and the basics of vocal projection can be used in any style of music. It doesn't matter if you're a lead singer in a rock band or if you just want to sing a special song at church. My intention is to guide you to find the freest most beautiful sound, free of tension so that you will sing beautifully into your golden years.

Learn the joy of Playing the piano

Have you always wanted to have the ability to sit at any piano and just start playing? It's never too late to start. I will teach you the basics of posture and music theory and give you the skills to play from any fake book in any style.

I reccomend that children start taking piano at 5yrs old and that they start with 1/2 hour lessons. Once they have longer attention spans we can discuss increasing the lessons time but as a young child it may be difficult to stay focused for longer than half an hour.

I also teach adult beginning through intermediate level piano lessons for the full hour.

I love and teach all styles of music
pop
Rock
Gospel
Jazz
Classical
Musical Theater
